Mumbai, June 1: The anticipation for the upcoming animated feature Mahaprabhu Jagannath continues to grow as the makers marked a key milestone by seeking blessings from spiritual leader Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar during a visit to The Art of Living International Center in Bengaluru.
The film’s team met Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, presented the official poster, and sought his blessings for the success of the project. The spiritual leader warmly received the team and extended his best wishes for the film’s release and journey ahead.
Following the meeting, the makers announced the official pan-India theatrical release date of Mahaprabhu Jagannath, confirming that the film will hit cinemas on 10 July 2026. On the occasion, the second official poster of the film was also unveiled.
Inspired by the cultural and devotional legacy of Lord Jagannath, the animated feature aims to bring mythological storytelling to the big screen in a visually rich, family-oriented format. The film blends spiritual themes with modern animation techniques, targeting audiences across age groups.
Produced by Durga Prasad Dalai under Ele Animations Pvt Ltd, the project follows the success of the animated television series Jay Jagannath, which gained widespread popularity among young audiences.
The upcoming film will release across more than 300 screens nationwide in multiple languages, including Hindi, Odia, and Telugu, marking a significant theatrical rollout for an Indian animated devotional feature.
Directed by Shripad Warkhedkar, the film features screenplay and dialogues by Pallavi Sharma, with music composed by Aviral Kumar.
The makers say the project is designed as a family entertainer that combines cultural storytelling with engaging animation, aiming to introduce the legacy of Lord Jagannath to a wider audience in an accessible format.
