Dharakote Hosts Successful Lakhpati Didi Workshop to Promote Women’s Livelihoods, Entrepreneurship and Financial Independence

Asika, Aug 24 [UDN}:: The three-day Lakhpati Didi Workshop and traditional food competition organized by the Mission Shakti Department of Dharakote Block concluded successfully.
The workshop was held at the block premises under the direct supervision of BPC Sushant Kumar Nayak and coordinated by ACP Ames Behera. District Project Coordinator Jay Krishna Mahapatra, Tahasildar Lambodar Marandi, ABDO Bhawani Shankar Pradhan, CDPO Sunil Prabha Rath, Block Finance Officer Suresh Behera, Assistant Engineer Chinmay Rout, Welfare Officer Ananya Panda, APO Nandini Das, Social Security Officer Sachin Patra and BPM Pratap Swain were present as guests.
With the objective of making Self-Help Group (SHG) members financially self-reliant and creating more Lakhpati Didis and Maha Lakhpati Didis, financial assistance was provided to several SHGs. The Dharakote SBI branch provided ₹1.25 crore to 25 SHGs through Field Officer Debashish Panda. The IOB Jahada branch provided ₹1.10 crore to 8 SHGs through Branch Manager Raj Pratik Das. The Odisha Grameen Bank, Dharakote branch, provided ₹90 lakh to 20 SHGs through Branch Manager Ashesh Kumar Das, while the Union Bank branch at Mundamarai provided ₹50 lakh to 5 SHGs.
As part of the traditional food competition, 10 SHGs that gave outstanding performances were awarded certificates, trophies and financial assistance totaling ₹40,000.
Patriotic songs, group songs and cultural programmes were also presented during the event. Bank Mitras Sanjukta Patnaik, Bishnu Priya Dalai, Sandhyarani Swain and Mamata Sahu, along with MBKs, CRPs, Panchayat-level Executive Committee members and SHG members from 18 Gram Panchayats, extended their cooperation.
