Sonepur, July 29 (UDN): Heavy rainfall has disrupted daily life in parts of Odisha’s Sonepur district after the Jamanal Bridge was submerged under around three feet of water, stopping traffic movement along the important Julunda-Siali road in Binika block.
The continuous downpour over the past few days led to a sharp rise in water levels, causing the bridge to go underwater and leaving commuters stranded. The route serves as a key connection for local residents, and the disruption has affected regular movement of people and vehicles in the area.
Authorities are closely monitoring the water level and have advised people to avoid using the flooded stretch until conditions improve. Safety measures are being taken to prevent accidents as rainfall continues across the region.
The incident is part of a wider rain-related disruption in Odisha, where several districts are witnessing rising water levels, road blockages, and flood concerns due to intense monsoon activity.
Local administrations are remaining alert and working to restore normal connectivity once the water recedes and the route is declared safe for travel.
