Jeypore,Sept 10 [UDN}: A panchayat-level grievance redressal and awareness camp was organised at Kaliagaon Gram Panchayat under Jeypore Block in Koraput district, providing local residents with an opportunity to directly raise their concerns before officials and seek information about various government welfare schemes and public services.

The programme was attended by Kaliagaon Sarpanch Sabita Muduli, Assistant Nirbahi Adhikari Rakesh Kumar Sahu, Panchayat Executive Officer Shibani Padhi, AEE Ranjita Rani Panda, GPDO Subash Chandra Khil, and other officials and staff members.

A large number of villagers from the panchayat attended the camp and placed their grievances and demands before representatives of different departments. Various issues concerning basic civic amenities and local infrastructure were discussed during the programme.

Among the major concerns raised by residents were the construction of new roads, repair and improvement of existing roads, installation of streetlights, drainage facilities and drinking water supply. Villagers sought appropriate action to address these problems and improve essential services in their respective areas.

Officials present at the camp listened to the grievances of the residents and provided information regarding the steps that could be taken to resolve the issues. They also explained how eligible beneficiaries could avail themselves of the benefits available under different government welfare and development schemes.

The awareness component of the programme focused on helping villagers understand government schemes, eligibility criteria and procedures for accessing various public services. Officials encouraged residents to make proper use of the available welfare programmes and approach the concerned departments whenever they faced difficulties in obtaining benefits.

The camp also served as a platform for discussing several other basic problems faced by people in the panchayat. Officials and field-level staff assured the villagers that their genuine grievances would be examined and necessary action would be taken as per government provisions.

Employees and representatives from different departments, including the Ravanaguda Community Health Centre, were also present during the programme. Their participation enabled residents to raise issues related to essential public services directly with the concerned authorities.

Such panchayat-level grievance hearings are aimed at bringing government administration closer to rural communities, ensuring that people can communicate their problems without having to travel to distant offices, and creating greater awareness about government schemes and public welfare initiatives.
