It is one of India's oldest native chicken breeds and is naturally reared in free-range environments. Due to its adaptability and low maintenance requirements, rearing Aseel chickens has become a profitable venture for poultry farmers.
The meat of this indigenous breed is now being marketed under the "Aseel Chicken" brand. At present, consumers in Bhubaneswar can purchase Aseel chicken meat through various OPOLFED retail counters. The initiative aims to promote Odisha's native poultry breed, support local farmers, and provide customers with premium-quality, naturally raised chicken meat known for its distinctive taste and nutritional value.
