Mayurbhanj, July 28 (UDN): Heavy rainfall has led to flooding in parts of Mayurbhanj district, with water from the swollen Gangahar River entering the premises of the historic Baba Kakharua Baidyanath Temple at Manatri in Badasahi block.
The temple complex, including the main sanctum, has been affected by waterlogging following the rise in river levels. The sacred Shiva Linga was submerged as floodwaters entered the shrine, creating an unusual sight that drew attention among devotees and visitors.
Despite the waterlogging, temple rituals and daily religious activities continued without disruption, according to local reports.
The incident occurred amid heavy rainfall across the district, which has affected several low-lying areas and increased water levels in rivers and local water bodies.
