Bhubaneswar, June 23 {UDN}: In a significant step to improve travel convenience and road safety on National Highways and Expressways, the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has announced that vehicle repair and tyre puncture repair services will soon be available at Wayside Amenities (WSAs) located along highways.
The National Highways Logistics Management Limited (NHLML), a subsidiary of NHAI, has directed its regional offices to ensure that WSA leaseholders give priority to establishing vehicle repair shops and puncture repair facilities at the earliest.
According to NHAI, the initiative aims to enhance the overall highway travel experience, reduce vehicle downtime, improve road safety, and provide immediate assistance to both passengers and freight transport operators traveling along national highway corridors.
With the increasing volume of traffic on National Highways and Expressways, the availability of repair and puncture services has become essential. These facilities will help highway users avoid inconvenience, delays, and potential safety risks caused by vehicle breakdowns. They will also ensure timely mechanical assistance during emergencies, making long-distance travel safer and more comfortable.
The move is expected to strengthen roadside support infrastructure and offer greater peace of mind to motorists across the country.
