July 6 (UDN): Ahead of the Puri Rath Yatra 2026 in Puri, the government of Odisha has issued strict instructions to keep the festival well-organised and safe.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi has directed officials not to issue any extra cordon passes beyond the approved limit. The step is aimed at preventing overcrowding and ensuring better crowd control during one of India’s largest religious gatherings, the Rath Yatra.
Authorities have also been asked to strengthen safety measures and improve coordination between departments so that devotees can participate smoothly and securely in the annual event, which attracts millions of pilgrims.
