Odisha Braces for Increased Rainfall as Two Back-to-Back Low-Pressure Systems Are Likely to Develop and Bring Widespread Weather Activity

Bhubaneswar: Sept 10 [UDN}:Rainfall activity is expected to increase significantly across Odisha in the coming days, with the weather department indicating that two low-pressure systems are likely to develop and move in succession. The back-to-back weather systems are expected to influence the state’s weather conditions and bring increased rainfall to several parts of Odisha.

According to the latest weather indications, the formation and movement of these two low-pressure areas over the Bay of Bengal could lead to a strengthening of the monsoon activity over the state. As a result, rainfall is likely to increase across various districts, with some areas potentially experiencing heavy to very heavy showers.

The approaching weather systems may affect both coastal and interior parts of Odisha, bringing cloudy conditions, intermittent to continuous rainfall and gusty winds in some locations. Weather conditions are expected to remain unsettled as the two systems approach one after another.

Residents, farmers and people living in low-lying and vulnerable areas have been advised to remain alert and closely follow official weather updates. Authorities are also expected to monitor the situation, particularly in areas that are prone to waterlogging, flooding and other rain-related problems.

The successive formation of the two low-pressure systems could therefore result in a prolonged spell of enhanced rainfall activity across Odisha, providing a significant boost to monsoon rainfall while also raising the possibility of localized heavy downpours in some districts.
