Bhubaneswar: Odisha has been recognised for its strong performance in the PM Surya Ghar Excellence Awards, with Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi lauding the achievement as a major milestone in the state’s clean energy journey.
In a post on X, the Chief Minister said the recognition reflects Odisha’s growing leadership in solar energy adoption and its commitment to sustainable and environment-friendly development.
The state secured first position among medium-category states in key performance indicators, including the highest number of applications, maximum solar installations, and the largest number of DISCOM inspections during the “Month of Solar” campaign held in May 2026. Odisha also achieved third place in vendor registrations, indicating strong stakeholder participation in the renewable energy drive.
The Chief Minister credited the success to coordinated efforts across departments, effective implementation at the grassroots level, and active involvement of officials and stakeholders.
He said the achievement will further strengthen Odisha’s power sector and support the state’s long-term vision of building a self-reliant and energy-efficient economy.
Majhi reiterated the government’s continued focus on expanding renewable energy infrastructure and promoting sustainable growth across all sectors.
