Bhubaneswar, July 10 (UDN): The Odisha Transport Department has launched a statewide enforcement drive against vehicles violating mandatory transport rules, resulting in the seizure of more than 100 vehicles in the last two days.

The action was carried out against vehicles found operating without valid fitness certificates, permits, and insurance documents. The crackdown aims to ensure that only roadworthy and legally compliant vehicles operate on public roads.

Transport officials conducted inspections at various locations across the state and took action against vehicles failing to meet safety and regulatory requirements. The department has advised vehicle owners and operators to keep all essential documents updated and follow road safety norms.

Officials said such enforcement measures will continue in the coming days to improve compliance with the Motor Vehicles Act and reduce risks caused by unsafe vehicles.

The Transport Department emphasized that the drive is part of its ongoing efforts to make Odisha’s roads safer and encourage responsible vehicle operation across the state.
