Bhubaneswar:Sept 10 [UDN}: In a major piece of good news for dairy farmers across Odisha, the Odisha State Cooperative Milk Producers’ Federation (OMFED) has announced that it will provide an additional ₹2 per litre to milk producers. The decision is expected to bring some relief to dairy farmers by increasing their earnings from milk production and strengthening their economic position.
The increase in the procurement price is likely to benefit a large number of milk-producing farmers associated with OMFED. Dairy farmers have been facing rising costs of cattle feed, fodder, veterinary care, medicines, transportation and other essential inputs.
