Balasore, July 27 (UDN): The famous Baba Panchalingeswar Temple in Odisha’s Balasore district has been temporarily closed for devotees due to heavy and continuous rainfall, with rising water levels in the hill streams creating safety concerns.

The temple trust board closed the main entrance as a precautionary step after strong water flow over the Panchalinga (five lingams) inside the stone cave made darshan and Jalabhishek difficult.

The closure took place on the second Monday of the holy Shravana month, when a large number of devotees and Kanwarias had arrived at the shrine to offer prayers to Lord Shiva.

Temple authorities said regular darshan and rituals will resume once the water level recedes and the situation improves. The temporary closure has been implemented to ensure the safety of devotees and temple staff during the heavy rainfall.
