Paradip, May 30: Paradip Port Authority has emerged as the top-performing port in India’s Logistics Port Performance Index (LPPI) for the financial year 2024–25, marking a significant milestone in the country’s maritime sector and reinforcing its position as a key logistics hub on the eastern coast.

Paradip Port Leads National Port Performance Index

The LPPI, introduced by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, assesses the operational efficiency and performance of ports across India based on cargo handling, turnaround time, productivity, and service delivery parameters. The initiative aims to enhance transparency, encourage competition, and drive continuous improvement in port operations.

Paradip Port’s strong performance reflects its consistent focus on operational efficiency, infrastructure modernization, and adoption of digital solutions. The port has steadily expanded its capacity and improved cargo handling systems, contributing to smoother logistics movement and enhanced trade facilitation.

Officials noted that the achievement underscores the growing importance of technology integration and reform-driven governance in India’s maritime sector. Continuous digitalization, process optimization, and stakeholder coordination have played a key role in improving overall performance benchmarks.

The recognition is expected to further strengthen Paradip Port Authority’s standing as a strategic maritime gateway, supporting India’s growing trade ambitions and reinforcing the country’s position in global supply chains.

Industry observers believe that such performance-driven rankings will encourage healthy competition among ports and accelerate the adoption of global best practices across India’s port ecosystem.
