The Chief Minister said preparations for the proposed visit have already begun after receiving confirmation from the Prime Minister’s Office. He added that he had personally invited PM Modi during his recent visit to New Delhi.
“During my visit to Delhi a few days ago, I invited the Prime Minister to come to Odisha. We have received a positive response, and preparations for the event are underway,” Majhi told reporters.
According to the Chief Minister, discussions were held regarding possible dates for the visit, including June 12 and other options around key political milestones.
The BJP came to power in Odisha following the 2024 Assembly elections, ending the 24-year rule of the Biju Janata Dal. Chief Minister Majhi was sworn in on June 12, 2024, along with his council of ministers.
PM Modi had also attended the first anniversary celebrations of the BJP government in Bhubaneswar, where he praised Odisha as a vital centre of India’s cultural and developmental progress.
With the state government approaching its second year in office, the proposed visit is expected to be part of the official anniversary celebrations.
