Puri , July 24 UDN}: During her two-day visit to Puri district, I visited the Child-Friendly Awareness Camp and Information Centre, inaugurated by the Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, Smt. Pravati Parida, with the joint support of the Odisha State Commission for Protection of Child Rights, Puri District Administration, and UNICEF.
I reviewed the arrangements and took stock of the situation. In view of the gathering of lakhs of devotees during the Bahuda Yatra, missing children are being safely rescued and reunited with their parents. I also interacted with 60 trained volunteers engaged in this important initiative.
Commission members Smt. Kasturi Mishra, Smt. Manasmita Khuntia, Smt. Chandana Das, the Puri District Child Protection Officer (DCPO), and other officials were present with me.
