Puri, July 14 (UDN): In preparation for the massive footfall expected during Rath Yatra 2026, the Puri administration has installed 1,270 bio toilets at various locations across the city to ensure better hygiene and sanitation facilities for devotees.
Lakhs of pilgrims are expected to gather in Puri during the annual chariot festival, creating a need for extensive public amenities. The newly installed bio toilets have been placed at important locations, including Bada Danda (Grand Road), Shree Gundicha Temple, bus stand, railway station, parking areas, and the beach.
The sanitation initiative is aimed at providing clean and convenient facilities for devotees while maintaining hygiene standards during the festival.
Officials said the arrangement is part of a larger preparation plan focused on crowd management, public health, cleanliness, and ensuring a comfortable experience for pilgrims.
With several measures being implemented ahead of the festival, the administration is working to make Rath Yatra 2026 a safe, organised, and memorable experience for devotees visiting Puri from across the country.
