Youth Empowerment Takes Center Stage at Block-Level ‘Self-Reliant Youth, Prosperous Odisha’ Convention

Nabarangpur,June 24 {UDN}: As part of the ongoing “Bikashara Dhara, Odisha Sara” (Development Across Odisha) programme, a Block-Level Self-Reliant Youth, Prosperous Odisha Convention was organized at the Dabugaon Block premises in Nabarangpur district.
The event was chaired by Samir Kumar Patra, Block Development Officer (BDO) of Dabugaon. The chief guests included Beena Majhi, Chairperson of Dabugaon Panchayat Samiti; Sadananda Nayak, Vice-Chairperson; Zilla Parishad Members Dhan Singh Bhatra (Zone-1) and Gupta Bishoyi (Zone-2); representatives of Odisha Government Minister Nityananda Gond; Dabugaon Block MP Representative J. Raj Shekhar Rao; Dabugaon Mandal President Manoj Patra; Borigam Mandal President Jagadish Bhatra; BJP Block Secretary Papun Kumar Muni; senior social worker G. Sai Raju; Assistant Industries Officer Bhrugupati Hansda; Government ITI Zonal Charge Leader Papu Bishoyi; District Employment Officer Anand Palli; and Assistant Training Officer (Raighar) Muralidhar Sahu, among others.

A large number of students, local dignitaries, and women participated in the convention. During the programme, speakers emphasized that young people should not limit themselves to seeking jobs after completing their education. Instead, they should strive to become self-reliant entrepreneurs, create their own sources of income, and generate employment opportunities for others.
The guests highlighted the importance of acquiring skills through training programs offered by the Skill Development and Technical Education Department and the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) sector. They encouraged students to gain expertise in various fields, establish their own enterprises, and contribute to economic growth by creating jobs for others.
Teacher Gupta Prasad Nag efficiently conducted the proceedings of the event, while Padmanabha Bhalla, Gram Panchayat Extension Officer, assisted in coordinating the programme.
The convention focused on empowering youth through skill development, entrepreneurship, and self-employment, thereby contributing to the vision of a prosperous and self-reliant Odisha.
