Bhubaneswar, May 27: The Odisha Higher Education Department has released the notification for undergraduate (UG) admissions for the academic session 2026–27, with the Common Application Form (CAF) process beginning on May 27 through the Student Academic Management System (Student Academic Management System).
According to the notification, the CAF will be available on the SAMS Odisha portal from 4 PM on May 27, 2026. Eligible candidates can submit their applications online between May 27 and June 10, 2026.
The first merit list for UG admissions is scheduled to be published on June 17, 2026.
The e-admission process will cover Plus-III degree courses, including self-financing colleges and Sanskrit (Shastri) institutions across the state.
Officials said the admission process for the 2026–27 academic year will follow the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 framework, offering students greater flexibility in choosing academic pathways.
Under the NEP structure, applicants can opt for a combination of one major and two minor subjects, double majors, or three minor subjects based on their academic interests and career goals.
The Higher Education Department has also indicated that undergraduate classes for the new academic session are expected to begin from July 9, 2026.
