Bhubaneswar, May 25: Fuel prices in Bhubaneswar have witnessed a significant upward revision, with diesel rates crossing the ₹100 per litre mark for the first time in the latest cycle of price changes. Petrol prices have also moved higher, adding to the overall burden on consumers.
Following the revision, diesel is being sold at ₹100.81 per litre, while petrol is priced at ₹109.16 per litre in the city. The increase includes a hike of ₹2.71 per litre for diesel and ₹2.61 per litre for petrol.
The sharp rise is expected to directly impact daily commuters, transport services, and goods movement, potentially leading to higher costs across essential commodities and services. As fuel is a key input in logistics and supply chains, the price surge may gradually reflect in broader inflationary pressures.
The latest revision continues a trend of fluctuating fuel rates influenced by global crude oil movements, currency exchange rates, and domestic pricing mechanisms. Consumers and businesses are now closely watching further updates, as sustained high fuel prices could affect household budgets and overall economic activity in the region.
