Sambalpur, Sept 3 [UDN}:Union Minister for Railways, Information & Broadcasting, and Electronics & Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw, requesting the establishment of a regional centre of the Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) at Gangadhar Meher University, Sambalpur, along with the expansion of the Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) centre in Sambalpur.
The establishment of a C-DAC regional centre at Gangadhar Meher University would boost research in Artificial Intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, data analytics and cloud infrastructure.
Similarly, the expansion of the STPI centre, with a focus on semiconductor design, AI and IT, would promote startups, innovation and skill development while creating high-quality employment opportunities for the youth of Odisha.
These initiatives would further strengthen the digital and technology ecosystem of Sambalpur and Odisha, while contributing to India’s vision of becoming a leading global technology hub.
